Every time I start the installer, my pc freezes totally!
Every time I start the installer, my pc freezes totally! No window occurs. I have to cut the power...
When I power on again, Photosynth seems to be installed, but cannot gain contact with the server.
I'm using FF 3.0.1, XP SP3 and have a GeForce FX 5200 128 MB (LOL, it's so old xD) and 3 GB of RAM. As I see it, it should meet your requirements even though!

Inappropriate?You're right, we should work on your system. This is not something we've ever seen in our testing.
If you go to the control panel does it show Photosynth as an installed application?
Also, have you tried it in IE - we do work in FF but the intall process is slightly different for each. -

I don't see photosynth in the controlpanel, but it appears in my Start-menu list!
To me, it looks like You would blame it on at prob in my system?? (which maybe right :P)1 Comment

Take a chill pill opus86. Every system's different, PhotoSynth installs and works on many many peoples varied systems... so yes... (as a MCP/MCSE) I'd be looking at your system too.
Try :- Using "Windows Installer CleanUp " to cleanup your install, then delete C:\Program Files\Photosynth. Download and install the required components manually (Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable, Windows Imaging Component), download and install latest DirectX (Aug 2008). Update video drivers to GeForce 175.19. Then re-install PhotoSynth again. If you've done all this already, don't shoot me please
