I don't use boot camp. I was a windows user for years. wen to Mac 3 years ago & want nothing to do with windows. Other programs have adapted to Mac, why not this one?

Inappropriate?Mac babies make my skin crawl. That being said it would be cool if there were at least a synth browser/ player for the mac crowd.

Inappropriate?I'm running fusion 2.0.1 on an external micro drive attached to MacBookPro with 3GB of RAM - it does not work.
Hope that Mac version is just around the corner.

I'm happy that my cousins and classmates with Macs can now easily see synths in the new Silverlight viewer as well. (Well relatively easily... I look forward to the Silverlight viewer just appearing on regular synth pages and embedded synths on other sites if someone already has Silverlight 2 and has not yet had the time to (or doesn't have the option to) download the high fidelity Photosynth viewer.) It's a shame that Silverlight 2 doesn't work on PowerPC Macs, but I guess you can't have everything.
For that matter, if Novell lives up to its Moonlight Roadmap, the new viewer means good things for Linux users as well... in 2009. -
Inappropriate?Mac users bug me. You can't have your cake and eat it, too. You chose to go out and buy a "computer" from a company that's the technology equivalent of a cult, then bash Microsoft to no end... then complain that something great like Photosynth doesn't work on your toy computer. I haven't looked, but I'm guessing there's no board like this demanding that Safari be re-written to support Photosynth. Quit your whining - it's your fault you have a Mac.

Inappropriate?let's be clear..synth works fine on a mac and safari w/o fusion, etc... the only thing lacking is the ability to create your own album which the employee indicated above they are working on it..

You could always try Photozoom for getting your photos into Seadragon's format but it takes some patience to type those long URLs into Seadragon Mobile. -
Rather than type long Photozoom URLs into Seadragon Mobile, you can use this online parser (put your PhotoZoom 'name' at the end)

Inappropriate?Tried it on Crossover today and, sadly, it did not work. Started up and then quit with an unknown error.

Inappropriate?I normally use Safari on my iMac, however I do have PC compatibility using Fusion and do run the PC version of Safari under Fusion when necessary. But I would prefer to run under Mac Safari. But I haven't had time to try it yet, and don't want to waste my time if it has no chance of working. Charles Wilkes

Forgot to mention that I also always carry my 32 GB version of iPod Touch and don't know if this kind of a picture can display on it or not.

If you're only interested in viewing synths, then (Intel) Mac Safari and Windows Safari will both run the Experimental Silverlight Viewer equally well, although running a virtual environment around the Windows version on a Mac means losing performance for no reason. If you want to use the normal Photosynth viewer under Fusion, it will only work in Firefox 3 or Internet Explorer.
Your iPod Touch has two free applications in the App Store that can view the photos in a synth: Seadragon Mobile and iSynth. Seadragon Mobile is an official Live Labs experiment and is very polished, but only views images in 2D. If your Touch want to see synths in 3D, iSynth is the way to go, but it is the result of a college student's summer internship with Live Labs and is a little more homegrown.
If you're wanting to actually make your own synths, you'll need to use something like Fusion or Boot Camp to run the small synther program, but you can then view the results natively on your (Intel) Mac version of Safari via the Silverlight viewer or on your iPod Touch using the two apps listed above. -
