I get a download ActiveX message when using Seadragon Ajax.
What activeX object is being used ?
I thought this was an Ajax technology.
Using IE8 (32bit) on Vista Ultimate SP1 64 bit.
Is this a bug ?

Inappropriate?Hey Kerry,
The only ActiveX technology we use is XMLHTTP -- known in other browsers as XmlHttpRequest. It's the "X" in "AJAX". =)
Is this the message you're getting? "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this webpage from running scripts of ActiveX controls that could access your computer."
You can see that this message isn't a "download" prompt per se; nothing is getting downloaded or installed.
But more importantly, you shouldn't be getting this message on the internet; it should only happen when the webpage is running off your local hard drive (i.e. the URL in the address bar begins with file:// rather than http://). Is this the case?
If either of the above two are wrong -- if the message is indeed a download message, or if it's happening on the internet -- that's very much a bug and we'll investigate. Let us know if that's the case.
Otherwise, the message is expected, because XMLHTTP would let us read files off your computer. It's a good security setting, and IE just allows you to override it with that prompt.
