More PR for the geotag feature
I have now seen a lots of synths the last two days. However not many use the option to geotag their synth. What about in the uploading window to have a lat/long option? - so people can geotag their synths from there instead of doing it from the web interface

Inappropriate?Geotagging is pretty rudimentary in this release. Expect that to improve!
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Cameras too. They are begining to include this automatically.

Inappropriate?I think also that until PhotoSynth will not become "serious" (read: more stable and efficient), people will not upload serious jobs and will not even bother, of course, to geotag their synths
I’m silly

Inappropriate? There are two aspects here,. Firstly there's the issue of locating the synth in the 'real world' (whatever that is ;-). This splits again intwo two issues: firstly there's simply giving a point on which the synth is anchored. However, better yet would be to locate all the matched points properly in 3D space (ie the scale of the scene is correct too).
This latter probably requires the first component, to use geotagging in the actual images themselves. E.g. photos from my N82 are individually geotagged. This helps give a scale to the scene but better still this information could be used in the matching & intersection to locate the matched points in space.
Essentially, Photosynth is only using part of the information actually available in much of the data being uploaded at present.
I’m hopefull
