Navigate the synth through a display of the synthed links betweeen images
In some synths I can see that there's a large set of images in a 3D group but it's difficult to navigate from one subset of images to the rest of the group.
It would be useful to see a graph display of the interconnectedness of the images in the synth to allow a group to be traversed completely.

Inappropriate?hmmm, you mean for cases when there are pictorial overlaps although the synther did not find them or for objects close in "space" for a given viewpoint.
in the first case one solution is manual hinting

the latter could perhaps be expanded into linking to synths made by others on the same spot (of the same objects), if they have been mapped.
perhaps this could be overcome the synther could use coordinates from the exif, of course the user needs to add them (e.g. with the help of a GPS data logger)

Inappropriate?Sorry to not pic this up earlier. I guess there are a couple of choices.
Firstly, try to display the pictures in each 3D group laid out with the links shown as lines between image pairs. This sort of graph display can be difficult to compute with a minimal number of link overlaps.
How about in the 3D scene view some sort of (pulsing?) lines to show links between scenes (another view cycled through by the P button), so viewing the scene you could zoom out to see all the pairwise links. User could then click on a node (ie image) at the end of a link to zoom back into the scene. The scene outline could also be shown, centred on the node, to show the photo orientation in the scene.
I’m enthused
