Please tell us what percentage of the photo is "synthy" in advance
Walt Mossberg asked a great question in this article about Photosynth: "One gripe I had was that Photosynth doesn’t tell you how synthy your pictures are until after you have uploaded them and waited until the system merges them, a process that can take a long time over a slow Internet connection. It would be much better if the service could tell you in advance how synthy the pictures are."

Good question, Amy.
We don't know how synthy your photos are until we finish computing them, and that takes time, and uploading all the photos also takes time.
So, we made the decision to do both of those operations in parallel. That way you wouldn't need to wait for the upload after the processing.
We've already started talking about a preview mode where you could see the synth locally before uploading it.

Any thoughts on increasing the synthyness of one's photos? Beyond the little video tutorial you have online? I did my first synth of the exterior of my house and although it is very cool only got a 57% synth -
If I understand correctly, the following two operations are done in parallel:
1. Computation of photos
2. Uploading of photos
If that is the case, can you modify the program so that it simultaneously displays the progress of both of these operations? That way, if the computation operation is completed before the uploading operation is finished, the user can know how synthy the synth is. If it is not a good synth, the user can then cancel the synth and modify it. -
We've already made a change to show synthiness when the compute is done (we don't have separate progress bars, though).
When we next release an updated client, this will be included. -
Nice! Thanks for the update! -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the response, Jonathan. That makes sense and I'm glad to hear you're already thinking about this.

Inappropriate?sounds like answering a question before you have all the facts you need have in order to be able to answer it ...
I’m silly
