Poor zooming performance with large viewport
I liked Seadragon Ajax so much I decided to experiment with it to display an archive of drawings I was involved in creating years ago; the images are scans from 35mm transparencies. In my other project the zooming worked well with the viewport at 300 px wide. I want to use 900 px here. The performance of the zooming is not great - a bit jerky. Any idea why bthis would be? Is there a sort of optimal size for the display div for smoothness? I've only just started this and I haven't got anything on the web yet.

Inappropriate? In general, the performance of Seadragon Ajax is proportional to the size of the viewport on screen. So yes, performance will be noticeably better at 300px wide than at 900px wide.
We can't change that fact, but in general, the performance is improving quite a bit on a lot of browsers. We're especially excited about IE9; its hardware accelerated graphics improve the performance dramatically. (It really blew me away when I saw it.)
Can I ask what browser you're running? Or perhaps more importantly, what browsers you're targeting?
