Resolution and grouping problem
Just started to use Photosynth today, think it's quite fun and useful :)
A few questions here:
1. The resolution show on the page is not sharp enough and much lower than those photos I uploaded. Is there a way to improve the resolution?
2. Some of the grouping wasn't done perfectly. Can I group them by myself?
3. Is it possible to download the Synth as a video file so we can share with others offline?
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Thanks for trying Photosynth.
1. That shouldn't be happening. Is it consistent, and do you see it with other people's synths too?
2. Right now you can't change anyhting, except by reshooting, and re-synthing. We plan to introduce tools to let you manually "improve" the synth next year.
3. No -- we don't generate video, or have an offline viewing experience. Sorry about that.

Inappropriate?Hi David,
Thanks for your quick response.
I notice the resolution of the images are depends on the internet connection speed "of that period".
For example I played the Synth 2 times.
1. Doesn't download anything - Internet connection fast - synth images clear with high resolution
2. Downloading something - Internet connection slow - synth images doens't clear and low resolution
What I trying to say here is after it loaded once with high resolution, why couldn't it play as high resolution when I play it again and again.
Synth is a cool and great tool but it can be better if you guys able to improve some of its features ;)
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?I think you're asking about why we don't "cache" (keep a copy of the images) that have been seen before so that subsequent views are fast, right? The answer is that we probably should do some of this, but when we do the effect may not be what you're hoping for.
A photosynth viewing session of a few minutes accesses hundreds or thousands of separate small files, so Photosynth alone could easily drop 10,000 files in your browser's temp directory if you spent 15 minutes brosing some synths. This is about an order of magnitude more than regular Web browsing, so we have been conservative and not enabled it in case of unwanted side effects.
Thanks for raising this issue. I'm going to use this as impetus to dig into the issue a little further.
I’m interested
