Stuck in Publishing Synth for 24hrs
Hi, My PS application has been sitting in 'Publishing Synth' mode for over 24hrs now. I've searched for my synths but they can't be found. Is there any way of checking to see if they're 'on their way'?
I've read that this was previously a problem but wondered if this was still the case?

Inappropriate?Gerry, I'm just a customer like you, but did you, by any chance, start the synth during the scheduled maintenance time on Thursday night (Pacific Standard Time)?
Also, you might want to check the log file for the synth that got stuck. It should have details about whether it ever completed or not, but it sounds like it didn't... which is too bad. Find the log file by pasting %temp%\Photosynther into your address bar in Windows Explorer or My Computer.

Nathanael,
Thanks for the tips. I'm not sure why (didn't start my synth during the aforementioned maintenance period) but after another couple of attempts I managed to publish the images.
I never managed to get to the log you mentioned - copied and pasted the link into my browser and just got an error message saying that the following address couldn't be found... Are there any other ways of finding my log? - seems like a useful tool.
Now its just a matter of improving the synthiness of my images. One step at a time I guess! Thanks. -
Inappropriate? In any case, I'm glad to hear that you got up and running.
I should have made it clear before, but do not paste these into Internet Explorer. They should be put into Windows Explorer. The same goes for the %temp%/photosynther shortcut which should work in either xp or Vista. You may just want to go to your Start menu and click 'Run'. From there, you can also use these addresses.
If you don't see the address bar in Windows Explorer/My Computer, find the top menu with File, Edit, View, etc. Then click View > Toolbars > Address Bar.
The logs can be found accordingly:
In Windows xp:
c:\Documents and Settings\[Your desktop name here]\Local Settings\Temp\Photosynther
In Windows Vista:
c:\Users/[Your desktop name here]\Appdata\Local\Temp\Photosynther\
Remember to replace [Your desktop name here] with your Windows username.
In my case they would look like this:
c:\Documents and Settings\Nathanael\Local Settings\Temp\Photosynther
c:\Users/Nathanael\Appdata\Local\Temp\Photosynther\
I’m sure it's easier than I make it sound.
