Can we see the following enhancements made:
1) SORTING! SORT SORT SORT! Let's hear it for SORT!
Sort your search results, sort your explore hits, sort your profile / others profiles
Sort on Date, # of pics, % of synthy, Rating (I will get to this), views, user
2) Rating System - let logged in viewers rate / rank synths; add this to sorting
3) Profile - Either scrap it or enhance it. A profile is NOT a profile without an avatar. Lets have some details in the profile. Let's make friends / buddy lists. In the profile let me sort / arrange my view / syth order; let me see who / how many comments are on each synth without having to launch. Links to Facebook / My Space / Digg / Flickr / etc
4) Random page button
I want to recommend this app to people but it is not there yet. These web enhancements will make it better for users, easier to find things to view, and bring the website into this era of websites. Seems to be lacking a lot of basic web features.
Should be easier to fix the website than to enhance the program at least.

Inappropriate?Capo, I strongly agree. We went out with the absolute, bare minimum to get things rolling, but we know we need the kind of major enhancements in the web service you suggest. Thanks for giving us your specific list.

Inappropriate?No problem - and I hope that you see I am a FAN of the application and the website. I was concerned that the website has the bare minimum but I hope these ideas help out. Cant wait to watch this app and the site evolve!

Inappropriate?Along those lines the ability to have a private none public synth. Also allow more control over sharing and who you can share with. The ability to password protect and share that way as well. This way one does not need to go through the steps to be a member just to view. I can have a pasword protectd synth and share that way as well. Two steps view the site enter password. Not the twenty steps to become a member and fill out a profile (if one does not have a live account) and now you can see the synth. I don't want to ham string people into becoming a member just to view a private synth. I can hear the naggers now "Why do I have to become a member to see a private synth."
Some of this can't be done with out a friends list and so forth. But maybe at least a private synth and maybe a password protected as well.

Yeah that is my main gripe - no sorting. It would be nice to sort on number of photos, synthyness, date, etc. It is great we can all post up to 20GB of data but it would be better if other people could find these.
Face it - the "popular" page is going to stay the same - top National Geographic 300+ pics with 1000+ viewings. Hard to break into that group. I find the Nice and Synthy a bit hit or miss too as not all of them are 100% synthy. Recently submitted is full of "test" ot "testing" or resumbitted / resynthed work. Without buddies you cant track buddy submissions. No way to track comments / discussions.
And this is the webpage. A lot of this is canned applets / canned code surely somewhere else on the MSN sites the code is in a resuable object somewhere?? -
Also on search, I would be tided over by simply allowing the searching of specific phrases, rather than matching the results to any one of the words in the phrase.
i.e. when I search for "papua new guinea", I don't want results about new york, new zealand, guinea pig, etc.
Also, the ability to search within search results would be excellent. -

3)it's a windows live laps product so stuf like the buddy list ect can maybe done with the windows live id as photosynth may become a part of windows live so it works together with the spaces ect.
and the links to facebook ect should have been added to the windows live profile lang ago...
4)imo not so usefull but it may be some fun when you'r totaly bored :) -
