Inappropriate?Looks as if this happens if you try and upload photos from a network drive. I copied them onto my Desktop and uploaded them from there and even though I don't know if it'll synth all right, but the images are uploading as we speak.
I’m happy
-
I am uploading from local drive and have the same error. -
Inappropriate?Everything seems I have found the solution for me.
This error is definitly related to network connection to photosynth web service.
I have drilled a hole into our proxy settings by allowing all http traffic against URL set containing http://photosynth.net/* and http://*.photosynth.net/* (First URL filter isn't enough, thanks to traffic being balanced over multiple hosts).
According all my findings this is related to MIME types announced by both client and web services for transferred content and to restrictions we apply for Internet traffic. Even the first call to photosynth web service after clicking Synth button has been blocked before and I got error immediately. Now it seems to be working, I am just in the phase of "Matching images".
I’m happy

Thanks, Martin! That sounds about right. In our table, the A000008 error relates to an authentication issue. -
I would love it if you could tell me, simply, how to get it to work. -
Inappropriate? Is there a way to enter Proxy Authentication details?
I'm behind firewall and I feel that's the issue!
However, I noticed I was able to login via the tool but it fails to upload photos.
I’m sad

Inappropriate? What is the URL(s) that Photosynth uses? I'm behind an ISA firewall at work and I can't tell our IT department what to unblock as http://photosynth.net is open. Since I get this error, I'm assuming it's trying to access another URL, but have no idea which one. This could be a great program for us at work, if only we could use it.
I’m frustrated

EndBringer42, can you confirm that you've got all subdomains of photosynth.net unblocked as well as Martin describes above? -
Inappropriate? Our IT department has to know what the subdomain is in order to unblock it. They use SafeSearch and supposedly you have to put the exact domain in; can't use wildcards. So, if Photosynth uses domains other than www.photosynth.net and photosynth.net then I need to let them know what those are. For example, in order to view CNET's downloads I had them unblock download.com, www.download.com and download.cnet.com, but then when I tried to download some files it came from software-files.download.com and was blocked. They require the actual full URL in order to unblock it.

Inappropriate? It is definitely not enough to open firewall for photosynth.net and photosynth.com, as everything is stored in the Live Cloud.
Webservice in Photosynth.net is used only for management and creation of synths, but all the content is stored somewhere else. I will review what I've put into our proxy exception list. -
Inappropriate? The real list of exceptions I have made is quite long:
http://*.llnwd.net/*
http://*.vo.llnwd.net/*
https://*.vo.llnwd.net/*
http://photosynth.net/*
http://*.photosynth.net/*
and there is a good chance that your security admin will not allow exceptions for those pointing to llnwd.net... -
Inappropriate?I use a ISA server and not work...
test later without proxy (home connection)
