Inappropriate?I have this problem as well with my Nokia E51!
-
Inappropriate?Top says:
Loki is here!
3 employees are listening and participating
but no info from them for 21 days?
I’m sad o.b.o. Loki

Inappropriate?I have the same problem on an E61 and and E65. BUT, I'm based in the UK and on a recent trip to the U.S. I found the application worked fine! Now I'm back in the UK and once again the application fails to start.
The networks I was using in the U.S. were unencrypted if that makes a difference, or maybe the Phone app just exists because it can't find my current location (seems ok from my PC though) -
Inappropriate?I'm testing this application on a Vodafone-build of the Nokia N95 8GB device. I'm in London, UK. Loki is enabled, but I cannot get the Loki Mobile application to work. It starts, tries to determine location, and then fails. I've tried it with wifi on and off.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Yes on my N95, either it just quits again or it doen't do anything(if away from any Wifi network)
-
Inappropriate? The application works fine in the USA, but not in the Netherlands. So it has something to do with the network I guess. When I'm in the States it works fine. When in the Netherlands, it doesn't. MyLoki works fine everywhere, however.
I’m puzzled
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem with my Nokia N95 classic (N95-1). I'm also in the UK.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Right....
"Getting location Error 2"
Does that mean anything to anyone? That's what I'm getting in the "My Loki" app, after logging on.
Hope this helps.
I’m feeling bit better...thanyouverymuch!

Chris, Error 2 (bad message, I know) means that Wi-Fi is not currently available. Are you sure Wi-Fi was enabled on the device? -
Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem on Nokia n95 8gb in Germany - quits after "determining location". If this application doesn't work outside the US, it'd be useful if the Loki folks would indicate this on their website.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Loki staff - PLEASE acknowledge that you are at least aware of this issue.
I’m Impatient

Inappropriate?Hey everyone, really sorry this thread has gone unnoticed for so long and that so many of you are having the same problem. I am digging in with our engineers now to see how we can best debug it as we are unable to recreate the issue on our end. Stay tuned and I'll update this thread when we know what is going on.
-
Inappropriate?Ryan - it looks like this is only affecting users outside of the US. You might be able to recreate this if you connect to a proxy overseas.
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?Liron, there clearly is an issues associated with it working in any location except the US and typically only over the GSM network (not Wi-Fi). We want to dig in to figure out what the problem is though.
Can anyone else confirm that the MyLoki background app runs and the issue is only associated with the Loki Mobile (local search) application?
Thanks -
Inappropriate?Ryan, I believe the myLoki background app is working because it's updating my location when I come within range of my Fon Hotspot.
-
Inappropriate? We have been able to confirm that it is just happening for people using a GSM connection outside of the US, but we have not been able to track down the problem.
Also, as Chris pointed out the problem only seems to be limited to the Search functionality, not the MyLoki application.
Unfortunately I don't have a timeline as to when it will be fixed. -
Inappropriate?Likewise -- seeing the same problem on my Nokia E51 (on the 3 network).
-
Inappropriate?I'm getting this problem in the UK on an E65. Has anything been done to try to fix it? It's been quite a few months now.
-
Inappropriate?I'm in Ontario Canada and the Loki plugin works amazing with wifi in Firefox on my MacBook Pro, but not on my Nokia N95 8GB phone. It says determining location but drops the wifi conection or sometimes asks my to enter location manually but doesn't go any further, seems to just drop the connection and hang. However when I enter an American address, it is quick to find locations and even 'show map' etc. If it can find me on my computer with wifi connection, can that be extended to work on my N95???
I’m confused
