Are there any plans to integrate Fire Eagle into Loopt? There are times when I'm unable for one reason or another to run the iPhone application, and I'd like to set my location with, say, Brightkite or Loki and have it update my Loopt location. I'd also like to have it work the other way around, i.e. use Loopt to set my Fire Eagle location. From looking at the Fire Eagle site, it doesn't seem like integration should be difficult.
What's the deal with Loopt not working outside the U.S. anyway? I'm a U.S. Loopt user, but I spend about half my time out of the country, and updating Loopt is a royal pain (I have to use the Facebook application and try to point at my location, if I can find it. And that doesn't always seem to take). It's almost like you went out of your way to disable functionality for people traveling outside the U.S. If I could update via Fire Eagle, I could use a more friendly program to set my location when I'm out of the U.S.
I tried to registered but I'm not getting the code via text message when I sign up via the web. I verified all the information (e.g. cell phone #). I installed the Loopt iPhone app on my 3G iPhone and tried to sign up from it. That's where I was able to see that the leading zero from the last 4 digits of my phone number are being dropped (123.456.0887 displays as 123.456.887)
Ever since the new iPhone app update, my twitter account does not update anymore with it even though it says the accounts are linked? Is anyone else having this problem?
I have a Motorola i670 through Sprint Nextel, and I'm getting an "authentication error" when I try completing the Java App download. I called Sprint's customer service, and they said that they're having problems with third-party applications and that I should try later. It hasn't worked all week, and now I can't login to loopt.com. I get the following error:
"Your web account is temporarily disabled since you have not used Loopt on your phone for a while. Please use Loopt on your phone and view your Friend Map to reactivate your web account."
I was hoping that I could at least update my location from the web, but since my phone network is having issues, I'm prevented from using Loopt at all. (My iPhone-wielding coworkers are making fun of me, too.) Is there nothing I can do?
i like loopt, but i just bought samsung r450 and its saying "this feature will be available soon" refering to loopt when i search for it on @metro....my question is the following: How much longer untill you guys add r450 to the supported phones by loopt???
I downloaded Loopt today and i'm stuck with the «Please wait for the SMS»...
I can request it again and again and again and again. No SMS there.
Is there something with my Phone or is it with everyone?
Just upgraded to the Samsung Instinct and was wondering if that phone will be added to your list anytime soon. Was working quite well on the A900 and it's a fun app to toy around with, but my new phone isn't supported :(
When I try to communicate with someone in loopt mix, my phone opens up an email and when I try to send, I get an error saying that the email address attempted doesn't exist.
The website effectively does not function in firefox 3. I am on a mac although the rendering engine in firefox is consistent across platforms so I would think that wouldn't matter.
The site works a good bit better in safari but generally still is quite slow and unreliable. The iPhone app is fantastic but clearly some work needs to be done on the main site itself. Given the breadth of problems it may even need to be completely re-visited from a technology perspective. Why is it that I'm never surprised when a site is performing poorly and I notice ".aspx" in the urls?
