Blackberry Storm location accuracy????
I am new to Loopt and I use a Blackberry Storm. App seems good but my location is about 15 miles off from where I actually am. Seems like a great app, but I don't want to manually update my location everytime I go somewhere

Inappropriate?Hi Jeremiah,
Unfortunately, Loopt can't get the best possible location info on Verizon due to some restrictions. GPS should work if you're outside and have a clear view of the sky though and give it long enough to get a location fix. Can you check your GPS settings? Go to Options->Advanced Options->GPS and make sure it's set to ON, not E911 only, and make sure location aiding and the other options are on as well.
Thanks,

Hi Chris,
I am new to Loopt as well. I like the app very much, but also seems to have inaccurate location (I have BB storm from Verizon and BB bold from AT&T). One basic question, so Loopt works using the device internal GPS and not the network? GPS must turn on in order for the location works?
Thanks,
Jack -
Jack - GPS needs to be turned on and the device needs to have access to the network via Verizon or WiFi. Accuracy of Loopt locations on Verizon isn't very good right now because Verizon restricts access to best available location. Only certain providers can use it. We can only post our best available location, which is most accurate if you're outdoors and can get a good GPS signal. Otherwise it can be up to a mile or more off.

Is there any indication as to when Verizon is going to make it more accurate or who customers can make a complaint? I like this application whenever I walk into buildings it is apparently throwing my location to the nearest tower which is about 5 miles from my current location. I guarantee my phone and I are NEVER that far apart. Thanks. -
I think it will continue to get better over time. Our next build should make things a bit better, and there's a chance we will have access to better location info soon.
