Friends Not Always Appearing on Friend Map/List

Some Loopt users have reported that their friends are dropping off the friend map and to the bottom of their friend list more often than normal. In most cases, this happens if your friend hasn't logged into Loopt for a day or two and their account times out. To keep your friend map and friend list up to date, make sure you login to Loopt periodically on your phone and that your friends do the same. You can remind your friends to login and update their location by Pinging them.

Also, when a Loopt account times out, your location sharing settings may be set to hidden mode in some cases. You can double check this by logging into Loopt on your phone or at Loopt.com on a computer, going to Settings, and making sure your account is set to share location with the friends you'd like. We're working to make this mechanism better and more accurate, but while we work on it make sure to check that these settings are correct if your friends report that you're not showing up on their Friend Map. Try also to open Loopt on your phone periodically to keep your account from timing out.
