iPhone 3G SMS notification problem.

On the iPhone 3G Loopt program, I turned off all SMS notifications, yet I still get them if someone pings me. I told the person to stop pinging me, yet he said he wasn't near his phone and has never pinged me to begin with.

What's the deal? You're wasting my text messages!

There are multiple options available under the settings menu.

Thanks for the quick response (again) and I was unaware that the setting to turn off SMS Notifications would be inside the app, not on Loopt's web site. I had a hard time finding it. (Settings > Privacy/My Account?)

I was initially unable to get the conformation SMS and that was eventually fixed. I still can't get ping or pongs though. I'm using an iPhone 3G on ATT. Any suggestions?

We changed the way we send SMS messages last night, so things should work for you now. Users who ported their numbers from other carriers weren't getting SMSs.

everytime someone has my phone and i get a new text it tends to pop up. i don't want that. how do i turn it off? i mean i turned off the SMS preview and it still is doing that! this is going to get me in trouble

Hi,

You can turn Loopt text messages off by going to Loopt->Settings-> Set alerts to OFF. Some phones do not allow you to disable text messages from popping up on the screen when received, but at least this way you won't receive any from Loopt.
