iPhone: How can I only invite friends who are already on Loopt?
There's a button in the lower right in the iPhone app, but I get the spnning icon for a while and then it gives up. I know some of the people in my list already have Loopt and I have their mobile numbers in my addressbook.

Inappropriate?I think this has to do with the fact that loopt can not read phone numbers starting with a country code aka +1, +44 etc in the iphone addressbook.
As a test, I went ahead and modified an entry of someone I know was using loopt and they showed up as a user right away

We might actually be running into issues on our side with that many contacts. Unfortunately, looking up contacts can be expensive and the iPhone may think the server is being unresponsive and giving up.
I'm going to take a look into this today and I'll let you know what I find.

Inappropriate?Hey Amit, Just wanted to keep you up to date. It was, in fact, the issue I mentioned about the server taking too long to respond.
We've heard a lot of feedback regarding this feature in the past week and we've decided to pull it. It's possible the feature will be resurrected in the near future, however, and when that happens I'll be making sure it performs smoothly even when you're super popular and have 1500 contacts =]

Inappropriate?Aroon... you may want to update the user guide to reflect that you have pulled this feature. I have been looking for it now for 15 minutes before seeing this post. I think it was a great feature so if you can resurrect it please do. I have a feeling it will VASTLY increase the number of people really using the network! -

Inappropriate?Loopt people, lack of this feature is a MAJOR stumbling block for me. I really don't want to invite random people - but I would be happy to network with friends that already have Loopt. Until this sort of search is available - even if through your website - I just don't want to use Loopt.

Inappropriate?Hey Mike, sorry you're having trouble. Try using this feature over Wifi and it should work a lot better.
Let me know if that works please. If it doesn't I'll need to look into a different fix.
