Why do I get event invites and SMS on my iPhone?

I own an iPhone and just got an events invite SMS from a friend. But there is no such events feature on my iPhone? What's going on?

You're getting an events SMS invite from a friend who's using Loopt on a non-iPhone version of Loopt. We are hoping to remove this feature from all versions moving forward (hence why we did not include it in the iPhone).

But for now, you can still check out Events your friends make by going to the Events tab at http://www.loopt.com.
