Why does loopt itself send me a message every other day reminding me to use loopt?
Why does loopt itself send me a message every other day reminding me to use loopt? Is loopt a little insecure about itself? I got 5 messages the first day I used loopt. Just one of those was an invite from a friend. The rest were sent by loopt about loopt.
Then I started to get 1 message a day, every other day as a "friendly reminder" from loopt to use loopt. This happened on 3 different days.
Loopt is annoyingly chatty about itself on a medium that forces its users to bear the cost.
Does loopt understand the value to users is their social network, rather than unsolicited chatter from the service provider?
Please make this better. Future notices from users will go to Greg McAdoo of Sequoia Capital and Patrick Chung of New Enterprise Associates.
I'm sad, disappointed and angry after the experience with loopt and hope others can avoid it.

The text messages you're describing are required security reminders that are meant to let you know that Loopt is installed on your device rather than to remind you to use Loopt. They will eventually stop on their own, but since they are security-related, Loopt cannot stop you from receiving them without deleting your Loopt account. If you would like us to delete your account, please send your request along with the mobile number on the Loopt account to support@loopt.com, and we will be happy to process your request.

Inappropriate?Thanks, but that didn't help. I went online and deleted my loopt account on July 19th.
On July 21 I received YET ANOTHER SMS MESSAGE FROM LOOPT, this one indicating I must call loopt to cancel the account I canceled and deleted using the loopt web site..
loopt is unreasonably demanding of user's time and inconvenient to cancel.

loopt is a mess, inconvenient, irritating, and inconsistent with the MMA trade group guidelines that loopt implies they follow.
My next communication will be registered mail to the Venture Capital representatives on the loopt board.

Inappropriate?I sent a log of all the SMS messages received from Loopt to one of their support technicians. The messages stopped and they indicated the log was helpful. Its been a full week with no more Loopt messages. Thanks.
