Will Loopt on iPhone work via data or SMS?
Greetings,
I'd like to know how the forthcoming Loopt application for the iPhone will work in regards to how information is transmitted. It seems that Loopt requires the use of SMS. The new AT&T plans for iPhone 3G do not include SMS and instead must be purchased separately, so this will be a concern for potential users of Loopt.
If there is an option for Loopt to work exclusively by the data connection (e.g. like browsing the web or checking email) that would be preferred. I'm hoping SMS will not be required.
Thank you in advance for any clarification on this issue you can provide.

Inappropriate?Hey raven, we suggest that you have an SMS plan when you use Loopt since many of our features incorporate SMS messaging to enhance your experience with Loopt.
For the iPhone, however, an SMS plan is not strictly required to use the service. You can disable SMS alerts in the settings section of our app and down the line we'll be using Apple's push notification service to send you updates so you won't have to worry too much about your SMS bill =]
I’m a hater of outrageous SMS charges too

That's good to hear, thanks!
