Permission problem with /extra/ugrad_space
When i log in into openlab with SSH at home, I cannot access the directory /extra/ugrad_space.
However I think I was able to create a folder under that directory with mkdir, but I cannot access that folder I just created.
Is there something I'm missing?

Inappropriate?Make sure you follow the instructions here:
http://www.ics.uci.edu/~lab/students/...
especially the part about using the 'chmod' command to set permissions and the 'chown' command to set ownership of the space.
If you run the command 'ls -ald *' that should show you which user and group own the directory and also whether or not the owner-group-everyone_else can access the space. Searching the web for a tutorial on setting unix file permissions might be necessary depending on your experience.
Beyond that support should be able to assist by emailing them at helpdesk@ics.uci.edu
If you figure out what went wrong, please post the answer here so others can learn.
