Save composition failing on 0.9.5
I've just started using Elysium 0.9.5 and it seems cool.
However I can't seem to save a composition. I've tried Save As and Save, tried saving to various paths and filenames. Every time the Save dialog looks fine but when I click the Save button it does not save and the window does not rename to the new file name. Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Inappropriate?Hi Justin.
Sorry you are having problems.
I have not heard about this problem before now and I just tried creating a new composition and saving it with 0.9.5 and it worked.
So a few questions:
Can you save any composition? What happens if you create a new, blank, composition and try to save it straight away?
Can you look in the console log (run the Console application) and see if Elysium is printing any errors there. It *should* pop up a dialog if it can't save but I know this area is not robust.
What kind of Mac do you have? Which version of Mac OS X?
You say you just started using 0.9.5 does that mean after upgrading? Or this is the first version of Elysium you have tried.
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of the problem.
Regards,
Matt

Inappropriate?Hi Matt,
Thanks for the quick reply.
- I can't save any compositions no. Yes I've tried a new blank composition and restarting Elysium with a totally blank comp as well, with the same issue. No save happens.
- Console: It looks like the only messge being added to the log around the save is:
Mar 29 04:12:53 mac-wireless Elysium[1740]: *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value (key: name)
I am setting a file name and using the save dialog as one normally would use any similar save dialog so perhaps this indicates that the dictionary value is set badly for some other reason.

- 0.9.5 is the first version I have ACTUALLY tried. However to get to 0.9.5 I downloaded 0.9.3 from the download link I found and started it and the first thing offered was an upgrade to 0.9.5 dialog which I did immediately and it restarted on 0.9.5. So I guess in a sense it is an upgrade although I didn't actually use 0.9.3.
Thanks
Justin
I’m confused

Can you tell me where you downloaded from?
I checked the download link from my site and it seems to be for the 0.9.5 version so I'm not sure how, at this point, you could have ended up with 0.9.3.

Inappropriate?Okay based on what you posted from the console I have been able to deduce what is wrong.
If you go into the Elysium preferences and add your name and an email address you will find that you are able to save.
This shouldn't be necessary and will be fixed in a future release.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention, also that I haven't updated the download link.

Matt

Inappropriate?I have just released v0.9.5.1 to fix this problem. Please update and let me know how you get on.

Inappropriate?Ok great. That makes sense. Seems to work when setting the properties and now without setting them in 0.9.5.1.
- I got the original link from http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx... which still appears to be 0.9.3 now. I guess following the publisher link to your site and downloading there would have given the latest but the app download on the apple site itself is out of date.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Ah that makes sense, I forgot to update the Apple site when I released 0.9.5.
Glad things are working for you now.
