Luke, I've installed 1.2.2 through the App store and used settings 192.168.1.103/9000/9090. The app starts up, indicates that it is connecting to the server and the Artists page pops up for a moment -- then the app crashes. I uninstalled and reinstalled through the App store a second time, with the same result. Help! Thanks. JCR
I've downloaded the app which by all accounts I've read seems to work quite well, but not for me. When I launch it, it scans for server, then, after about 5 seconds, the manual configuration pops up. I've tried it with my other iPhone and same thing.
I can connect to the server through safari on the iPhone just fine, also on my laptop. I've reviewed all the settings for host name, ports, no passwords are used and no ips are blocked. Even if I put in the server name in the manual configuration, it does not work. Slimserver Version: 7.3.2. Mac OS.
Hi all. A feature for shutting down (power off) the single devices would be great. Controlling the features "size" and "brightness" would also be great.
Firstly I'd like to apologise about the delays to the new release. Significant parts of the app have undergone a rewrite and this has delayed things somewhat.
The release is almost ready and beta versions have already been sent out. Please note that the next release of Squeemote will require iPhone OS 3.0.
Stay tuned for a final release announcement and a full list of changes.
Running "SqueezeCenter_7.3.2-sparc" on a Netgear ReadyNAS. The Squeemote auto detect didn't find the server so I manually entered the IP. Now Squeemote says there are no devices connected to the server. The only options I have are Exit and Retry, the former closes the app, the latter just gives the same error, so I can't even see the manual settings now, or anything.
I saw a previous post about no devices and the telnet test. I can connect to the server on port 9090 and get the following response:
Things have been quiet after the 1.2.2 bug fix release.
I was hoping for a relative quick step to the next release (1.3 ?)
Q) what is in the works?
Q) when is the estimated release?
Albums syncing of local database never finishes. Is there a way to restart it from scratch ? Hint : my MP3 collection is 120 Gb big and contains songs with accentued chars. Other features seem to work nicely. I'm running v1.2 on iPhone 2.2.
I recently re-tagged and deleted a lot of music – but all of these now orphaned artists and genres still show up in the listings in Squeemote (but not the squeezebox), why? I am aware that Squeemote caches these lists and updates in the background, but I've let the app run for fifteen/twenty minutes now and there's no change. Maybe re-introduce a “force sync” button in the preferences for these extreme/special circumstances?
The 1.2.2 version of squeemote is working much better. One issue though - my list of artists is not even close to the number I know i have in my library. All the albums seem to show in the app but not the artists. Any ideas?
I use Napster so I have no need for my own music library. Having a computer spun up with SqueezeCenter just to remote control seems unnecessary.
Any chance of an update that could allow the use of online services without SqueezeCenter? Does anybody know if iPeng or Squidgy supports this? I just plumped £5 on this thing so now I'm a bit nervous I'll spend another £10 and end up with nothing!
A few users have reported issues with the latest Squeemote release crashing which have been resolved by re-installing the app on their iPhone/iPod Touch.
If you are having problems and Squeemote is crashing, could you please try re-installing Squeemote first to see if this solves the issue.
To reinstall, first delete Squeemote from your device. You can then either reinstall from the app store directly (you will not be charged), or if you have a copy in iTunes, you can simply resync your device (you may need to re-check Squeemote under Your Device > Applications).
Pandora Now Playing. The "Now Playing" seems to be really slow refreshing when playing Pandora. Sometimes it seems to get stuck on the first artist/song played and then the transport functions don't work at all.
One of the key features of the Pandora music service is being able to vote the songs up or down in order to control the content of the station you're listening to. These buttons are conspicuously missing from the Squeemote app. This is really the biggest missing feature for me, requiring me to keep the original Squeezebox remote around.
