Example Magazine in Scribis
I just downloaded Scribis, as I saw you had a template for it. I understand desktop publishing enough to be dangerous, but it sure does make it easier when I can see an example of a completed product (even if it's only four pages), so I can leap frog off of it.
I don't have Adobe InDesign, and I'm trying to prevent the cost of purchasing it, so I'm hoping Scribis can support what I need for MagCloud.
I'm pretty confident that I can whip a magazine out this week with an exmaple file head start.
I know another publisher - is it possible to ask them to save their magazine in a certain format that I can open in Scribis (obvious newbie question).
Thanks, I look forward to your reply.

Inappropriate?Unfortunately there isn't any cross compatibility between Scribus and other desktop publishing programs, so you would not be able to save your publisher friend's file in a format that could be opened in Scribus unless his or her file was initially created in Scribus.
To give you a starting point, the Scribus template on the MagCloud website has been updated to include a few text and image placeholders in the form of a mini 4-page magazine.
