One of my favorite features of ma.gnolia is the "give thanks" links, but it's hard to do sometimes. For instance, when I'm on a group page, there's no easy way to thank the person. Additionally, it'd be nice to give a thanks while on the page so I didn't have to come back to give my thank you....
Would be nice to be able to open all bookmarks from a search or from selected tag/s. This is the only thing I miss from having my bookmarks in my browser vs online. Is it even be possible to do such a thing?
Hi, I've been using the blogging tools for a few days now and all appeared to be working fine. Thanks for creating them.
I visited my website today to find that I did not have a post. I know this occurs when there are no new bookmarks. The thing is that I did add two new bookmarks.
I looked at my ma.gnolia blogging tools page to see if the job ran ok. It reports that the last attempt was ok. Thats fine but it doesn't say when the last attempt was made so I'm not sure if it has attempted to blog the new bookmarks.
Would it be possible to display when the last attempt was made as well as if it was successful please?
A nice little history log of this information would be great. I have a daily job but might not be able to check the results daily.
I'd like it if I could ask Ma.gnolia for a list of bookmarks I've made public. Currently, the only way I can do that is by bookmarking my bookmarks page in my browser, logging out, and opening that bookmark. Odd steps to be taking...
Put preview image is a great idea. But why not add preview tag. Based on simple TF/IDF algorithm. Because, sometimes the title of the bookmark don't contain useful meaning.
This let us (the consumer) loose less time editing tag.
It would be really nice to be able to pull your del.icio.us friends feed into the "Most Recent Bookmarks from your Contacts" section of the site. Since I've got a few friends that still haven't seen the greatness in it that I have. :)
It would be really nice to be able to keep up with their bookmarks.
I've mentioned this on the wiki before, but apparently I'm meant to post feature suggestions here.
Simpy is basically dead - it was a one-man show, and that one man is no longer around to clean up spam or plug security holes. I'd like to bring all my bookmarks over here, but various attempts to download from there and upload here haven't worked so well. A method for the direct importing of bookmarks from Simpy would be wonderful. If you'd like it, there is information about the Simpy API here:
Would it be possible to be able to automatically check your book marks for broken links.
or to set an end date for a bookmark, sometimes there are thing i want to share or remember that are of the moment, but not really something i'd want to keep forever - like the billgates leaving talk on channel 9 for example i might watch it now, but in 6 months its old news.
Ma.gnolia's screenshot/cap feature is a welcome visual element, however the shots grabbed often fail to adequately represent the page bookmarked.
Whatever scraper is used to gather the screencap, it would be nice to offer the user 2-4 image options from which to select, so only the most representative is displayed.
Moreover, the fixed size of the screenshot is too small. Although bandwidth costs are of course an issue, Offering S, M, and L options - for both local display within Ma.gnolia and externally via posting tools - would dramatically improve the value of this feature.
Thanks for creating the Blogging Tools. I've found them really useful.
1. Would it be possible to allow posts to be created with multiple categories please?
and
2. Would it be possible to add a feature that allows the bookmark tags to be added as categories when posting?
let's take a large focus group, let's say we want to use our bookmarking activity also for keeping public relations --> we need that some people will specialize in keeping relations, so we need people who add bookmarks, people who constantly check them in order to see if they still work, people who use that bookmarks to keep contacts with the various web sites. It would be nice and useful to have the possibility of assigning roles directly in Ma.gnolia instead of developing an external database. It will also be useful to have a way of marking who is caring a specific subset of links, I mean at present we know who posted that links, but we need an extra information about who is maintaining them and the relations involved.
When writing bookmark descriptions, all text formatting is ignored when displayed within Ma.gnolia.
While formatting is correct when the posts are exported via posting tools, the local display ends up as one huge chunk of text. Supporting line breaks alone would be a big improvement. Supporting bold, italic, underline, and especially block quotes would be even better.
You would use the <enclosure> for the insertion of the thumbails in your RSS/Atoms Feeds. <enclosure type="image/jpeg"></enclosure>
Thanks this enclosure, for exemple, the thumbails will be visible in NETVIBES...</enclosure>
