It would be really nice to be able to pull your del.icio.us friends feed into the "Most Recent Bookmarks from your Contacts" section of the site. Since I've got a few friends that still haven't seen the greatness in it that I have. :)
It would be really nice to be able to keep up with their bookmarks.
Delegated OpenID login still doesn't work. Whenever I login with http://redmonk.net (which has the delegation code pointing to http://redmonk.myopenid.com) I'm told there's no OpenID at that location.
I've mentioned this on the wiki before, but apparently I'm meant to post feature suggestions here.
Simpy is basically dead - it was a one-man show, and that one man is no longer around to clean up spam or plug security holes. I'd like to bring all my bookmarks over here, but various attempts to download from there and upload here haven't worked so well. A method for the direct importing of bookmarks from Simpy would be wonderful. If you'd like it, there is information about the Simpy API here:
I visited the wiki prior to visiting the Support Index, saw the Feature Suggestions and Bug Reports pages there, and assumed that you used the wiki for all that. If I'm meant to post that sort of thing here, why are those pages there?
When whatever "remember me" forgets what it's supposed to do, I have to sign in again. That's alright, but if I'm trying to add a bookmark, ma.gnolia looses track of the site that I'm trying to bookmark and I'm confronted with a blank form after signing in. If I have to sign in, ma.gnolia should at least remember exactly what I was doing when it made me sign in and restore the data accordingly once I've gotten myself signed in.
Would it be possible to be able to automatically check your book marks for broken links.
or to set an end date for a bookmark, sometimes there are thing i want to share or remember that are of the moment, but not really something i'd want to keep forever - like the billgates leaving talk on channel 9 for example i might watch it now, but in 6 months its old news.
When I try to search for sites tagged with a certain term in "everybody's bookmarks", the site takes ages to actually return (or doesn't return at all). This seems to only affect the global tag-pages. At least when I try to view a tag-page within my own collection, it works well.
I'm thinking about creating a bookmarking helper, one that would provide sample tags, an aggregated rating, a sample description and a sample title. I haven't been able to find anything for computer-reading. The closest I've found is Roots, but that's for humans and I'd like to have the helper aggregate multiple sites (del.icio.us also). The API does allow searching for a URL, but only through a user's bookmarks, not everyone's.
I see far too many sites with "share" links that post to digg, stumbleupon, delicious, etc.--but no ma.gnolia! Can anything be done to get more share links to ma.gnolia?
One of my favorite features of ma.gnolia is the "give thanks" links, but it's hard to do sometimes. For instance, when I'm on a group page, there's no easy way to thank the person. Additionally, it'd be nice to give a thanks while on the page so I didn't have to come back to give my thank you....
My weekly posts job used to work but no longer does. When I test it on ma.gnolia, I get a "time limit exceeded" error come back.
It's like the job can't talk to the XML-RPC file, which doesn't make sense, as I have other tools successfully posting to my blog using the same technique. I've also rechecked the file permissions and they're set to 755, which should be enough.
Ma.gnolia's screenshot/cap feature is a welcome visual element, however the shots grabbed often fail to adequately represent the page bookmarked.
Whatever scraper is used to gather the screencap, it would be nice to offer the user 2-4 image options from which to select, so only the most representative is displayed.
Moreover, the fixed size of the screenshot is too small. Although bandwidth costs are of course an issue, Offering S, M, and L options - for both local display within Ma.gnolia and externally via posting tools - would dramatically improve the value of this feature.
