Blog posting job - always times out
My weekly posts job used to work but no longer does. When I test it on ma.gnolia, I get a "time limit exceeded" error come back.
It's like the job can't talk to the XML-RPC file, which doesn't make sense, as I have other tools successfully posting to my blog using the same technique. I've also rechecked the file permissions and they're set to 755, which should be enough.

Inappropriate?Hi Stephen, this seems like it's a problem with our server trying to talk to your blog. We'll look at perhaps increasing our timeout in our next code deployment.

Inappropriate?Larry, that's weird. I do most of my post editing through ecto (http://infinite-sushi.com/software/ecto/), and it doesn't apparently have any timing or connection issues.
I guess it's a factor of your servers needing to talk to mine (which is at MediaTemple in LA) in a timely way. I wonder why the delay happens? Is there a way to tune my end?
I’m confused

Inappropriate? The problem could be due to a number of things.
I've noticed that my site doesn't serve web pages in a consistent manner. Sometimes its quick, other times it can time out. This is probably due to the web host.
Does your web host do daily backups or anything else that might slow down your site?
What blogging engine do you use? I've spotted a few timeouts with my engine and some blogging clients when the XML-RPC call or response was not valid or unexpected.
