We've found since releasing the beta of the daily post feature that Blogger no longer supports the method we use to create blog postings (metaweblog). We hope to expand support for more platforms, including Blogger, but can't say when that will be possible.

For Wordpress users who use any form of shared web hosting might have trouble getting Ma.gnolia to find the blog's endpoint even though it's clearly there. The solution to this problem is to modify the htaccess file as described at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/12.... Thanks to member juliannasculpts who both reported the problem and found the fix!

How Can I Find My Blog's API Endpoint?
The Endpoint is just an URL that tells Ma.gnolia where to talk to your blog. Endpoints for some of the most popular blog platforms are:
* Wordpress: http://YOURSITE/PATH/TO/xmlrpc.php
* Movable Type: http://YOURSITE/PATH/TO/mt-xmlrpc.cgi
* Typo: http://YOURSITE/backend/xmlrpc
* Livejournal: http://www.livejournal.com/interface/...
* Typepad: http://www.typepad.com/t/api
* Blogger: https://www.blogger.com/atom/
You can find your blog's API Endpoint using this great list of Endpoints for many blog platforms: http://ecto.kung-foo.tv/docs/pgs/tocE....

Inappropriate?My host made some updates to its server, and the blog posting is no longer working, even with the workaround I found before.
I tried adding this code:
<ifmodule>
SecRuleEngine Off
</ifmodule>
But Ma.gnolia is reporting this error when I try to send a test post:
HTTP-Error: 406 Not Acceptable -
Inappropriate?Since we use a standard Weblog client API, you might be able to get help your host if you ask them how you can configure your blog so you can use a blogging client.

Inappropriate?After searching the web a bit and some back and forth with my host, I've found the problem. It seems my host upgraded to ModSecurity 2, and disabling it is (a) no longer possible through the htaccess file and (b) if they disable it for me, it would be for my entire website rather than just the xmlpc file.
If anyone else is having this problem, first try one of the following:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/12...
http://www.red-sweater.com/forums/vie...
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/10...
If you get crazy errors with those fixes, it's likely ModSecurity can only be disabled through the Apache config file, which must be done by your host. Again, this can only be done for your entire site and not just the Metaweblog API file (xmlpc.php, in most cases), so you'll need to consider the security risk before requesting it. -
Inappropriate?I can't seem to get this working with TextPattern. I keep getting a 404 error whether I follow the directions listed on textpattern.com for enabling RPC or the directions listed at ma.gnolia. I really like to get it working.
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?I'm pretty sure the Textpattern endpoint listed in the Ma.gnolia resources is incorrect. I have recently used rpc to connect to MarsEdit (which is using metaweblog-compatible technology) with this endpoint:
http://domain.com/rpc/
I would really like to be able to connect my blog and my clients' blogs with Ma.gnolia, so I hope you are able to add metaweblog support soon.
Thanks!
I’m hopeful!

Inappropriate?Hi Raina
It's possible that the information is out of date. Did you try using the /rpc/ endpoint in Ma.gnolia? -
Inappropriate?Hi Todd,
Yes I did try. I tried it with .com/rpc and .com/blog/rpc because I understand that some apps require that only one "section" of Textpattern exist as the "blog".
I’m optimistic
-
Inappropriate?In that case I don't think we're able to support Textpattern blogs right now. We know it works with WordPress, Typo and with a bit of haggling Movable Type. Until we can expand support to more modern blog APIs , it's a hit and miss process with various platforms.
I’m sad
