My ma.gnolia RSS feed doesn't work!
I have two accounts, & neither RSS is working:
1 - feed://ma.gnolia.com/rss/full/people/katielips
2 - and for one of my projects:
http://ma.gnolia.com/rss/full/people/...
The error I get on that one is:
"This page contains the following errors: error on line 10 at column 101: Opening and ending tag mismatch: base line 0 and head Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error."
Is it a little bug or something I'm doing wrong?
P.S. I know that when I add a new RSS feed to pageflakes or similar I need to change the 'feed://' to 'http://'.
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

That's good news that the feeds are coming back to life. We will look into the validation problems, as those have come up before in the past.

We think it's a dashboard widget as well. We've been in touch with the developer of the one we thing is having trouble, but no full solution yet. We think we've got the problem under more control now, and would like to hear if anything has changed for people having problems.

We've done some work on managing the feeds and believe you should see better response now. We seem to be getting feed requests over and over from some application (which could be a widget or something else) that is identifying itself as the AppleWebKit/523.10.3 user agent.
We're still looking into it.

We're still working on the feeds, folks. I promise we'll post here when they're fixed.

Hi Rick - that's frustrating. Can you tell us roughly when you first noticed this problem? We have been doing a large database update in the background that can affect performance while it's happening. We've been careful to tune the update so it doesn't hurt performance too much, but there may be overlap with the problem you're seeing.

I checked with the team and some heavy work being done on the database will make Ma.gnolia a bit slower for the next couple days. This is affecting feeds at various points as well, and we think that's the problem here. We'll tune the way the database update is working if it makes the service unusable, but the good news is that it's temporary and part of upgrading our search features. I hope the performance hit isn't too hard to work through!

I checked the feed for this group and can see some problems there as well. We're looking into it now.

The feeds problem that started today has been fixed. A server software upgrade caused a bit of chaos that we don't yet understand, but we have things back to normal. Thanks for the heads up!
I’m happy

Looks like we have a bug in the feeds at the moment. We're working on it and should have a fix soon. We'll update here and on Twitter when we have some news.

Inappropriate?Wonderful! Thank you so much, all my feeds now working very nicely.
Definitely a ma.gnolia fan - and now a Satisfaction fan too!
I’m very happy

Inappropriate? My group feed doesn't seem to be working today. Endo, FeedBurner, Feed Digest, Feed Validator all fail to read the RSS or Atom, Full or Lite, feed, which is for the "wink" group.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Hi, I'm having problems importing a ma.gnolia feed into Tumblr. It's always timing out. I've occasionally got it to work but then it stops working. Is there still a problem with feeds at the moment?

Inappropriate?Hi, it's been happening since about the end of last week when I started trying to link my feed into Tumblr. I'm using a lite Atom feed (http://ma.gnolia.com/atom/lite/people...) as the feed source, I tried accessing this feed directly in Safari just now and it just times out and can't load it up. Occasionally it works though.
-
Inappropriate?I got this error eventually when trying to access that feed I mentioned above:
Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /atom/lite/people/wideopenspace.
Reason: Error reading from remote server -
Inappropriate?Have you made any recent progress with problem feeds? My "wink" group feed still doesn't validate in FeedValidator and can't be read in FeedDigest.

Inappropriate? My feeds are now working great in my pageflakes page, which is now being used / accessed by several people (possibly all at once). No idea what the applewebkit thing is - yes perhaps a dashboard widget, but that wouldn't be over an over (probably)?
Keep up the great work guys - i love magnolia - definitely the best social bookmarking app! -

Inappropriate? There's been some progress: Feed Validator didn't recognize the feed at all before, but now it can read it, though it does find some errors. Here is the text (for http://ma.gnolia.com/rss/full/groups/... ):
This feed does not validate.
line 20, column 49: pubDate must be an RFC-822 date-time: Tue, 4 December 2007 07:11:27 PST (20 occurrences) [help]
<pubdate>Tue, 4 December 2007 07:11:27 PST</pubdate>
^
In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendation.
line 364, column 2: Missing atom:link with rel="self" [help]

Inappropriate?Hi, yes, my feed seems to be coming into Tumblr no problem now.
Thanks for your help!
I’m thankful
