This vintage messenger bag comes with the features of the original design, but is improved with the addition of being manufactured with our special Wax Canvas. The 1605W is the perfect companion for the urban bike messenger, student or average joe. The main interior compartment is big enough for your books and notebooks and it's even got a flap inside with a zippered pocket for the items you want kept safe.
I am looking for a bag that does it all. I need to carry a laptop, power cable, notebook and a few folders, pens, my cell phone, ipod and blackberry, nalgene bottle, thermos and newspaper. Which one of your bags do you recommend. Ideally it would have organizer pockets fit for the ipod, bberry and cell phone (and maybe some pens) and a laptop pocket with two upright sleeves for a small thermos and nalgene bottle.
Do you all make any mention, or ever acknowledge the fact that the real original messenger bags were made by a little Italian couple that worked below a Chinese cookie manufacturer down on Mott St. I know because I got my first bag there: from GLOBE CANVAS, on Mott St. a long time ago, and then a second one a few years later....way before Manhattan Portage was around. This is not to say that MP doesn't make great stuff, because you do, I just think it is a little disingenuous to say that it is the original messenger bag, when some of us, whom grew up biking around manhattan, know that it is not.
Sometimes I have only a few items in the bag, like my Mac and a bag with powersupply. the Mac or other gear tend to sink into the bag, until they are sideways, which sticks into my back. It there were cinch straps on the ends of the bag, I could tighten them, and keep contents upright.
