This vintage messenger bag comes with the features of the original design. The main interior compartment is big enough for your books and notebooks and it's even got a flap inside with a zippered pocket for the items you want kept safe. The bag includes a Velcro closure and a metal buckle for the shoulder strap which will not let you down.
Do you all make any mention, or ever acknowledge the fact that the real original messenger bags were made by a little Italian couple that worked below a Chinese cookie manufacturer down on Mott St. I know because I got my first bag there: from GLOBE CANVAS, on Mott St. a long time ago, and then a second one a few years later....way before Manhattan Portage was around. This is not to say that MP doesn't make great stuff, because you do, I just think it is a little disingenuous to say that it is the original messenger bag, when some of us, whom grew up biking around manhattan, know that it is not.
I just purchased a vintage messenger bag (1605OLD) and after adjusting the strap to my height, I have a lot of excess shoulder strap. I tried to loop it back through and that didn't seem to work right either. Can i cut it off without the end getting all tattered and ruining the bag?
