Best cell phone case for a snug fit with iPhone?

I'm trying to decide between a small (1002S) vs. regular size cell phone case (1002) for my Manhattan Portage NY Messenger bag. I have an iPhone that I'd like to fit snugly in there. Would a small cell phone case 1002S be able to fit the iPhone ok?
