excess shoulder strap problem
I just purchased a vintage messenger bag (1605OLD) and after adjusting the strap to my height, I have a lot of excess shoulder strap. I tried to loop it back through and that didn't seem to work right either. Can i cut it off without the end getting all tattered and ruining the bag?

Inappropriate?Hmm. I'm sure you could do it. I wonder if there is a way to minimize the tattering.
I’m curious, too

Inappropriate? You should be able to melt the cut end with a lighter or candle. Since the stap is made of nylon it will melt and become plastic like, sealing the end. Be careful as you apply the heat though, if it gets hot enough the nylon will continue burn when you remove the flame...if that happens just blow it out. I recommend moving it back and forth continuously to just melt it avoiding combustion.
I’m unsure why my tongue is out.
