geopress map does not appear in admin view or posts
So I have wordpress 2.7 with the geopress plugin installed and I can add address locations to the posts, but the map does not appear in admin view and there is nothing on the posts. The georss includes the geotag which is great, but I would really like to see the maps - particularly in the admin view ... I can see the geomap div in firebug - I've checked in Safari, Camino, FF, IE and can't see it in any of them - I assume this is some sort of install problem. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance CHEERS> SAM

Inappropriate?I've tried installing GeoPress in several different WordPress installations: an old v.2.6 setup, and two on v2.7.1. A mix of Windows and Linux hosts, local and external. And I still haven't been able to see a map on the admin side. All other functionality - geocoding of addresses, storage of locations - seems to be working fine. I've even downloaded revision 13 from svn.geopress.org - and it's the same problems again.
Firefox error console reports '(JS variable) is not defined': when I try each different map provider, it reports different variables, but the same basic problem.
Desperate for a solution: this would be absolutely perfect for a project I'm thinking up at the moment. -
Inappropriate? This is an odd problem. It sounds like perhaps there is a conflict or bug from another plugin? That is the typical issue.
Is the Firebug message literally "(JS Variable)" or is there a variable name? -
Thanks for the reply, Andrew. No, what I meant was, when I change mapping provider, different JS variable names are quoted in the Firefox error console (not Firebug btw).
So with 'Microsoft' selected, I'm getting 'VEMap is not defined' in mapstraction.js (line 220). With 'Google' selected, it's 'GMap2' (line 196). I'm also getting errors with GClientGeocoder and geo_map in geopress.js (lines 31 and 207).
On my test setup, Geopress is the only plugin currently active. -
Inappropriate? So I'm testing on GeoPress 2..8-beta1-11423 and it seems to work. Which GeoPress are you using?
Can you update from here and try? http://svn.georss.org/geopress/geopre...
