Video does not play
I've been uploading Flash videos for the past month with no real problems. 2 days ago I posted the complete project, a 22:00 140mb FLV file at 640x360 (just like all the clips I had been uploading). It played just fine in Firefox on Windows and Mac for me and my client. Yesterday I uploaded the final video (same duration and specs). Today my client gathered senior execs in a conference room and went to play the video and it would not play. Progress bar moves across but it never plays. They called me and I opened Firefox on my Mac. After about 1/5th of the video loaded, I was able to play it. My client let it entirely load and it never played. Moving the playhead had no effect as it would not progress past the first frame. I closed and reopened Firefox and again went to the video, this time I experienced the same problem they were having (despite being able to play it minutes ago in a previous Firefox session). It never played. Thankfully, my client's IT person had another browser called Opera and when they loaded the site and this video in Opera it played. It should be noted that the client was able to play all previous videos I had uploaded.
This was a critical review of my project on what had previously been a stellar experience with Market7. This non-playback issue arose at the worst time. What was/is the cause of this?

Inappropriate? Thanks for bringing this one up. We can understand your frustration. When you are uploading videos in a certain format and they are working fine, It can be a real burr in your paw to have that way suddenly stop working.
We became aware of a problem with .flv uploads recently and have been working to isolate and resolve the issue. It is an intermittent problem that is temporarily solved many times simply by reloading the page (this is why sometimes it plays fine, and sometimes not). It is a complex problem and we are actively working on it now. It doesn't effect everyone and even those it affects, it isn't consistent in when it appears to work or not. That is why it is so tricky for us. We would prefer something that was always broken, it's much easier to diagnose and repair. I realize that doesn't help you much right now.
What I can say is that Quicktime movies (encoded in h.264 and AAC) will encode and play reliably. If the intermittent issue is too much I would recommend switching to Quicktime uploads until we can get the issue resolved.
It is at the top of the list for things we are working on and I will personally reach out to you when we thing we have a solution in place. In addition, It would be helpful to get the exact video you are having a problem with so we can use it as another example.
When you select the video and it begins playing (or not playing) in our annotative player. The URL looks something like this:
video.market7.com/users/X?/projects/Y?/assets/Z?
If you could let us know what X? Y? and Z? are, it will allow us to locate the exact location within our system. -
