Mazda Dealer and Mazda's Financial Services Drop the Ball on Turning in License Plate.

In 2004 we leased a Mazda RX8 from Wayne Mazda. We turned the car in in 2006. We have all corresponding paperwork. However, the license plate associated with that car has now turned up on a Ford. That Ford was ticketed in Newark, NJ April 13, 2008 at 12:45 a.m. We received a notice from the court that the violation payment is overdue. This was the first notice receieed at our address. We did call the court and they promised to research the problem. Then, we called Mazda erroneously believing they would help us. Not so. Now my husband's credit is at risk as well as his impeccable driving record. This is not the first time Mazda has failed to help us. We have gone the route of calling Mazda headquarters as well as the bank that finance the original lease. The Manager in Wayne has said he did all he can do. So here we are, out on a limb and very concerned that my husband's driver's license number is associated to a license plate that has been out of our possession since 2006. Any help from anyone would be appreciated.X8M
