Royal Mail and Free Shipping
I am using free shipping for certain products (DVDs) but all of my Royal Mail methods are showing as free for those products rather than just the cheapest.

Inappropriate?Hi firefly. Sorry for the delay in responding, it's hectic here. Let me just try and clarify the problem.
You have set some products to come with free shipping. When you go to the checkout, instead of the weights of the products selected for free shipping being dedcuted from the total consignment weight and then a price for shipping being displayed, you are getting £0.00 for all Royal Mail shipping methods?

Thanks for getting back to me. I think an example is called for:
Suppose I have two Royal Mail methods active.
Normal shipping would cost aroung 50p for a DVD but it would be about £5 extra for Special Delivery. Without the free shipping customers would usually choose the cheaper method.
With free shipping turned on, weights are being deducted from the total consignment weight for all the active methods in the module instead of just for the cheapest method. This means if someone selects Special Delivery for a single DVD they still get it free and I am out of pocket by £5.
In contrast I gather that using the UPS module they would only get UPS Ground method free and all the rest would be chargeable

I have released onto Magento Connect version 2.0.5 which addresses the issue.
The approach to addressing this issue is to first internally restructure the shipping methods so that they appear cheapest first. Then when going through the shipping methods in order to calculate them if I discover a method that works out as being free then I stop calculating and only output that one. As the internal structure is represented as cheapest first, this should work well.
