Been there, done that, no tee-shirt, no deal, no thanks.

Giving you my billing information prior to my free month of Freelance Marketplace membership is a deal breaker for me. I can't tell you how many times I've signed up for a service, not liked it, and had to jump thru too many hoops to get my "negative option" payment back.

If your Freelance Marketplace is so good, I'll be happy to give you my payment information after I try it. So your insistence on taking my payment information before the trial begins raises red flags for me, and makes me think your service is not going to be good enough for me to like it, and you know that, and you're hoping to collect some money from me and thousands of others through or sheer laziness or unwillingness to ask for our money back or uncertainty about the value of the service.

I've been there, done that, and didn't even get the tee-shirt. So I'm not going to do it again.

    Hi Robert -

We're sorry you feel that way, though we understand your hesitation. Just to let you and other members know, the process for canceling your membership to Freelance Marketplace is simple; at any time during your trial, you simply log onto the site, go to Your Account, and go to Cancel Subscriptions. If you click Cancel next your FM membership, you'll ensure that your account will expire at the end of the month without renewing. You can also get in touch with us and we can cancel it for you. We're certainly not trying to trick you into paying for a service you don't want.

Furthermore, if you're ever accidentally charged (let's say you forgot to cancel in time), our refund policy is simple and painless. We understand that mistakes happen, and we'd gladly set you up for a refund if you contacted us soon after being charged. It only takes a few moments to set up a refund. No hoop-jumping here.

Please let us know if you have other problems or concerns.

    Cheers,
    Jennifer
