What to do if a MediaBistro class is canceled.
I've registered for a bunch of classes/seminars that have been canceled due to lack of participation. It'd be nice if there was an alternate way to get help on a specific topic even after the class on it is canceled.

Inappropriate?Hi Ethan,
A couple questions: What class were you most recently enrolled in that was canceled?
How many times has this happened?
Was this an online course or an on site one?
We are working on developing ways for our members to learn independently on various topics. If there are specific topics you'd like to see in a self-paced learning product, we would love to hear your ideas.

Inappropriate? The first was a one-time seminar in Creating an Online Profile and the other was an online class called Grammar and Editing for Bloggers. In both cases, I signed up for those as opposed to larger, more general classes because I was more interested in the specific subject matter. I guess they were specific to the point where not enough people were interested for a full-on program. I just joined AvantGuild in June, however, and as this happened to two of the three programs I enrolled in, part of it is me being unlucky. It just seems so wasteful to go through the effort of organizing the class with a willing instructor and a number of interested students and then have to cancel it for everyone because enrollment doesn't reach a certain threshold (I realize economic realities are what they are).
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Ethan,
I'll speak to the education department about those specific courses and see what we can do to boost enrollment. I'll get back to you sometime Tuesday. Thanks so much for using Get Satisfaction to get in touch with us.

Inappropriate?Ethan,
Sorry for the delay in response. The best I can offer now is that we'll look at those particular courses that were canceled due to lack on enrollment, and work on getting the word out better. They are certainly important topics.
