How do I get consistent transistions in background mode?
When using the decks in BG mode to change the video background on the fly, the text cross-fades as well. How can I keep the text (foreground) constant while switching backgrounds? Conversely when I change still backgrounds the text does what's it's supposed to although I can't get the still backgrounds to fade in and out using the templates on the bottom of the deck. The templates work great in Normal mode. Is this still under development?

Inappropriate?Just use straight dissolve or cut. BG will use what ever transition is set for the cue.

John, Thanks but I tried that. The background mode transition does not inherit from the cue. But the type of media being used as the background. And this effects the text of the cue as well (which is actually the part I'm more concerned about. I'm going to try build 105.2 this weekend and see what happens. -
Inappropriate?OK I upgraded to build 105 and now still graphics from the deck in background mode do not affect the text, Thanks! Still have some work to do on the video background cue's though. I noticed that a video always causes the text to go transparent while switching to an animation background leaves the text at full opacity

Inappropriate?John,
What type of videos are you using? I am using mpeg's and do not get the transparent text when vj'ing the backgrounds. Do you notice anything else going on that could help me recreate the issue?
Steven -
If you were really asking me, I use them all, (avi, mov, mpeg, xvid, divx, wmv) and haven't noticed any certian type causing more problems than others. I will take note in the future. -
Inappropriate?Steven,
Transparent is probably an overstatement. Translucent would be more accurate. It isn't really noticeable on a say blue background with white text but on a black background it's downright distracting and takes about 5 seconds.
I'm taking a standard Lyric Cue with a jpeg background with Disolve set for 10 in VJ mode I select either an Mpeg, AVI, or WMV. The "Projected" image does a nice 5 -7 second crossfade durring the crossfade the text becomes slightly translucent.

I'm running a Dell Latitude D830 with a Core Duo Processor @ 2.2GHz and 2Gb Ram with either 128 or 256 Mb on the Nvidia Graphics Card. -
Inappropriate? If the only thing changing is the background, then is sounds like the text is doing a real slow dissolve. I think this may be a part of another issue where text is dissolving over motion when it set to cut. I have found if you take the effected cue and change it to dissolve over motion, allpy the change and then set it back to cut, it will apply the the change
