Installed K-Lite and QTA 1.81 but still can't play H264 vid in 3.5.
Even after reinstalling both K-Lite's latest and QTA 1.81 I'm still getting the error "File ****.mov can not be loaded". I used Compressor to kick out an H264 mov file that should work with direct show. It plays fine in MPC and looks great. Why won't MS play it?

Inappropriate?what operating system are you running? Have you tried different settings for the .mov through k-lite?

Inappropriate?Chris, while MediaComplete recommends K-lite (and I have used it as well), see if the Vista Codec Pack works for you. I currently am using that one and .mov files play fine. I do not load the QT Alternative either. I don't understand it, but it works. I downloaded a 480p movie trailer from Apple the other day (to test it) and it plays fine. The setup is a little different. You choose your codec preferences from the start menu. Under the MOV folder, there are three options. It's worth a try.

Inappropriate?Things to try. I know version 1.81 works best for most .mov files but you might want to try newer versions. The only draw back is it might not play the common .mov's. Also try different versions of klite and as Mike has suggested, the Vista codecs. Also try earlier versions of video drivers. I actually got much better results on the church pc by rolling back the drivers. I had to get them from the manufacture's site because windows won't roll back unless there is something to roll back too. If all else fails, there is a couple of nice free converters out there.

Inappropriate?Hey Chris!
we had the same problem. If you do a search in the old forums you will find this discussed by a lot of people. The recommended fix is to downloaded the newest K-Lite Mega Package, and chose Gabest instead of Haali for the mp4 (ect) splitter. It worked for us!....
