Random crash during worship service!
During our church's worship service, MediaShout randomly stopped responding and had to close. It was kind of embarrassing and inconvenient to have to start the program all over again while the worship team was still on stage singing. I wasn't even running anything elaborate, just lyric and text cues with backgrounds on them. Is this something that happens with the software a lot? I don't want that happening in the middle of service again! Should I be checking our computer's specs to see if they match with MediaShout's required specs? I am running MediaShout V4 with build 118 - trial version.

Inappropriate?What are the specs on the pc and video card you are running? Also, when you say it crashed at what point did it crash and did it give a specific error message? MS4 shouldn't be crashing but the more detail we get the more specific an answer we can give you to prevent it from happening again to you.

Our church is using a Dell DIMENSION 9200/XPS 410;
Windows Vista Home Premium;
2GB of memory;
4306MB total of virtual memory;
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6320 @ 1.86GHz;
For our video adapter we have a NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS with a driver version of 7.15.11.5828.
Regarding the crash itself, I was just running a song cue when a box popped up that said the program was not responding. Then it had a button to close the program, but I clicked the "X" trying to avoid a crash, but it still closed anyway - during the service! This has not happened a lot; it may have even been the first time that this has happened. What do you think is the issue and what actions should I take? -
Inappropriate?Hang in there Nathan. MS is pretty good at getting things in order. Granted a lot of us feel that it was released to soon, but I don't think they had enough beta testers to push it in all directions.

Inappropriate?If the crash was a one time thing it could just be that we in the tech world have to write off as a hiccup a the moment, but not a pleasant one. Unfortunately, computers do that at times for all kinds of reasons, virtual memory, network etc... your specs sound more than fine. If it hasnt happened more than once I wouldnt worry about it too much but do the standard maintenance on your pc...ccleaner, virus check, and spyware check. however, if this is something that has happened more than once we definitely need to take a much closer look at it and I would be more than happy to talk to you about it and check it out. 888-857-1292 , if thats ok with you.
