use of microformats on event pages would be nice
it would be nice if meetup events used microformats so I could more easily add them to my calendar using a firefox extension

that's a great idea. we currently support microformats on our calendar view page but not on our individual event pages. i'll put in a feature request for that and hopefully get that added soon.
