rest api nickname support?
Is there any way yet using the REST API that I can create xrl.us URLs with nicknames?

Inappropriate?Hi Michael,
Incredibly you are the first to ask for this, so no - not yet. :-)
It's easy enough to add though. What is your use case? I think noone else has asked for it because most API users want it to be as simple as possible and wouldn't want to pick a name, deal with errors when the name is taken, etc etc.

Inappropriate?Hi Bjø
Thanks for your reply. The specific use case I had in mind is this:
- I have a script that watches commits (numbered revision) to the Subversion repository for the Webkit project and posts them as status messages to http://twitter.com/webkit
- I use Metamark to generate, for each numbered revision, a shortened URL for the corresponding link to the Trac view for that revision
- instead of a random string, I would rather have a predictable URL that includes the actual revision number, prefixed by some abbreviation like "wk"; so like this:
http://xrl.us/wk31741
That's it, in a nutshell. Lemme know if that doesn't make sense.
