Recently active topics in Microsoft Corporation about Windows Vista

First of all, I'm using Windows Vista and Office 2003 on an Inspiron 1420.

The problem only happens when I'm working in Word, and it involves my
external USB mouse or touchpad.

Whenever I use the center scroll wheel on my mouse or scrolling section of my trackpad to scroll through a
Word document, it scrolls downwards just fine, but when I try to scroll
upwards, the screen/page won't refresh properly.

It only seems to happen in normal or outline view, but not in print view.

As a result, one or more lines of text will appear to repeat over and
over on the page. If I keep scrolling up, the same repeated lines of
text just continue to multiply.

I've found that I can "temporarily" interrupt the problem by clicking
with my mouse on Word's built-in vertical scroll bar and moving the
page either up down significantly -- then the text refreshes and goes
back to normal.

This happens in all documents i have tried, regardless of length or apparent complexity of the document.

Others have experienced this problem without relief (e.g. http://groups.google.com/group/micros...)

I'm using excel 2007, and after altering a value field setting in a pivot table (from "count" to to "sum" for example), it loses the new settings when I take it away from the "Value" area, changing automaticaly the value field setting from "sum" to "count" again.
How can I avoid this?

Sometime the pointer on the screen doesn't point to the place I click, it is slightly below and to the right, why could this be?

In Windows Vista Internet Time Synchronization I keep getting the error:

"An error occurred while Windows was synchronizing with time.windows.com."

This occurs with any of the choices for server.
How do I fix this?

I'm considering upgrading to Windows Vista. Does Vista support Dual-SLI (i.e. two video cards)? I have two Nvidia GeForce 7900 GTs.

I have a dell inspiron 1420 with 2gb Ram running Vista Basic. I have really liked Vista's search feature..but recently it seems to have slowed down considerably. I tried decreasing the amount of folders that are indexed and rebuilding my index. It is still so slow as to be almost useless. I just searched for the title of a word document that took about 8 seconds to find..before it used to be under a second.
I am thinking of disabling the search and going back to google desktop.

I am not sure what might have precipitated the problem. All I can think of is uninstalling a bad install of Acrobat Professional. Perhaps it was one of the recent auto-windows or office updates..but I am not sure where to start in looking for them.

Any suggestions anyone?

Occasionally when I cut a paragraph to the clipboard this causes word to stop responding and crash.

Any idea what could be up?
