another local access only vista problem
i am a network engineer with a independent internet provider, i have come across several customers in just the last couple of weeks, that have the local access only issue. i have not been able to fix any customer that has had this problem. all PC's in question are vista and hard wired. all security were removed all firewalls disabled but still no fix. i have fixed this issue several times in the past but in the last 2 weeks that i have been dealing with this no previous solutions have worked. this is getting very frustrating for all involved. any help please?

Inappropriate? What does ipconfig /all say? Assuming in all instances the customers are hitting a DHCP server to obtain the IP?
-
Inappropriate?all PC's in question are connected to DSL modem Routers that are set to DHCP. ipconfig comes up with the correct ip, sub, gateway and DNS. can log into and ping the modem/router. can not get any further than the modem/router and several customers have XP and or Macs that have no problem getting online. all firewalls disabled all anti-viruses are disabled. i have set a couple of the Vista machines to a static but that did not solve the problem. i have seen a registry fix but i do not want to share that with my customers if you get what i mean.
thanks

Inappropriate? Can you run ipconfig /all and paste in the details. What are the details of this registry fix as well? Have you gone through the Diagnose and repair?
-
Inappropriate? Is this the registry info you're referring to?
