IE tab opening

I am curious about the reason that IE takes a lot of time to do the "connecting..." process every time you open a tab, even if you change it so it will open a blank page. because how hard really can it be to open a BLANK page?

That's not enough info to know for sure, but here are some things you can try:

disable addins
disable toolbars
disable the phishing filter

If any of those fix the problem, then you can strategically start re-enabling bits to figure out the exact piece that is causing your slowdown.
