Reoccuring problem, How do i Fix this?

the words of my mother, not just tonight, but many other nights around Midnight or later during the school week.

This happens all to often and Causes additional stress in my mothers life as she tries to close up a divorce proceeding and work a full time job. The last thing she comes home and wants to deal with is her son who cant help but be sucked into xbox/xbox live.

i ask you to think about the power of social influence here - if your 12 or 13 and have freinds that stay on xbox live really late on a regular basis, what are the odds that you'll want to jump and do what your supposed to when you have freinds beckoning you on within xbox game play.

With the rise of the internet and information technology as well as smart phones and sms texting....could xbox as a whole be set up to drasticlly reduce the stress parents experience in their lives.

With trends showing both single parent homes on the rise and, despite the economic downturn, more woman trying to find work outside the home - is it possible to use new communication technologies to find a solution to these sort of issues.

I clearly Feel yes, that both things like sms, online scheduleing, smart phone apps, even a special website, can be used to avoid such situations and produce less stress in the home as well as make time for other aspects of life.

Imagine having the ability as a parent to sms a number a time which you want the xbox as a whole to shut down for things like dinner, home work during the day, even bed time.

the ability to even have a online schedule that a parent can make for the future relative to a childs schedule - which in the future will most likley be online for the most part can really create less stress and less distraction in ones life.

The next question - IS THIS ENOUGH to solve the problem....

the short answer is No, as when a child gets their parent to purchase an xbox - their are too many parents who dont fully understand the abilities of such features..if they exist.

so finding ways to truly connect with a parent AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE - possibly through the linking of email address and debit card numbers for example, or simply having a form they can fill out at a register to get in contact with you.....it may be possible to find a way to educate parents and gaurdians about such features if they were to come about - a process i encourage doing so with a story like i mentioned in the begginign, many of pictures, and a video. as they will pay attention to that for sure.
