What's up with the Xbox 360 Arcade / Gears of War 2 widespread disc read issues?

I have tried a number of the trouble shooting ideas. Replaced the game and everything.
Brand new Xbox 360 Arcade and brand new GoW2 and it still does it.
It's intermittent and this needs to be resolved.
I feel like Microsoft or whomever is trying to cover it up or at least not address the issue as it stands. It's so obvious it's a problem with the systems capabilities to read the discs quickly or accurately.
I was going to send my xbox 360 away for repair for 2-3 weeks but I seriously don't think it's "broken" or needs "fixed" per say as much as the manufacturers just didn't build them correctly.

Inappropriate?I would suggest that you contact Xbox support to obtain a replacement or service. I'm not aware of any reported defects across the games you mention. If you have any difficulties, please LMK here.

Thank you for the response. I'm assuming nobody has been let know of this problem but it's very wide spread. The fact that everyone I've spoken too is having the same intermittent problems with their system and they are all brand new right out of the box consoles and discs.
If I send my console off, and it comes back and has the same problem because they replaced the parts with the same parts they manufacture them with, how am I ever going to get this fixed?
