Using XP, and IE, why do I get "Intsall Silverlight", when it's already installed?
Silverlight is installed for use with Netflix on Windows XP, using IE version 8. But Netflix tells me to install it anyway. When I try to install it again, Silverlight says I need to un-install first.
I used Uninstall programs and and Windows Installer Cleanup to un-install. But when I try to reinstall Silverlight, it tells me it's already installed.
I was on the phone for over an hour with Microsoft and they removed what was left in the registry. It worked for a week or so and now the same thing is happening again.
Now I have to use Chrome to watch Netflix.
I have a new Macbook Pro but I am afraid to install this program on it!
Please help!

Inappropriate?I'm going to answer my own question because I found another thread with this same problem somewhere else on this site.
When I went to this site: http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/...
and clicked on the first image for "better steaming" it gave me the option to Install Silverlight, and low and behold it did it!
